This High School English course will strengthen a student’s ability to read and understand literature through socratic discussion and written expression.

Students will be introduced to the short story as well as several classic novels such as Hemingway’s, The Old Man and the Sea; George Orwell’s, 1984; and CS Lewis’, Screwtape Letters.

First semester will focus on American literature, while second semester will focus on British literature.

Using Writeshop One, this writing class will provide an incremental approach while practicing with descriptive, narrative, informative, and persuasive compositions.  By providing the tools and techniques to become an excellent and even confident writer, your child will no longer feel that writing is a chore.
