ACT / SAT / Resume Prep for Athletes & Others

Affordable ACT & SAT Intensives for Athletes & Others

Some days ago, I began searching for an ACT & SAT tutoring program that offered group rates. I was also hoping to find something that addressed the needs of student athletes: academic resumes, athletic resumes, social media management for recruiting, etc. In the space of several days, research turned up programs ranging from expensive to exorbitant. Anything remotely reasonable was a text or, at best, a self-paced set of videos, lessons and checklists.

Until I found the S.C.H.O.O.L.S. PROGRAMS. (Success Can Happen Out Of Low Scores) I was intrigued by the description on the website, enough to read past the initial cost. It was pricey for the homeschool wallet. Glad that I did. There is a $155 group rate for homeschoolers and NONathletes, too.

Founder, Valencia Belle was generous with her time. As she answered my long list of questions, it just kept getting better. There’s so much to be excited about, beginning with the founder herself.  Ms. Belle was a highly recruited high school athlete herself. She has the depth of knowledge of SAT/ACT, test procedures and material, accommodations, current NCAA requirements, Title 1 schools, vouchers, the recruiting process, the national athletic clearinghouse, requirements for various schools and the timetable that all of this fits into. And that’s just getting started..

The program in a nutshell:

 – The five-week program has a four-hour class each weekend and 8 hours of homework weekly with 24/7 access to help in answering over 1200 questions.

– The first and last weekend sessions have a full (mock) test. The program ends 1 week before the actual test date.

– Financial and computer literacy is also a part of this class. (Knowing how to manage scholarship money is a needful topic.)

– Students receive guidance with both their academic resumes and athletic resumes.

– Students are shown how to set up their Instagram and Twitter accounts for recruiting.

Ms. Belle is glad to talk with groups of parents to answer questions either virtually or in person. Feel free to join us at the JCHAI center in Monticello for an informational meeting with Ms. Belle. Afterwards, if we have 10 or more participants for the five week program, we qualify for the $155 group rate. The class can be done live at JCHAI or online. For those who can not make it to the JCHAI center, the informational meeting can be done online.

PARENTS OF SENIORS: PLEASE BE AWARE THAT IF YOU WANT TO JOIN THE ACT PROGRAM BEFORE THE NEXT ACT TEST, THE REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS MONDAY, AUGUST 1, 2022.

In the spirit of disclosure, I am not receiving any sort of kickback from Ms. Belle. I was fortunate enough to find her program for my favorite group of athletes and happened to tell her that mine was homeschooled. I am thrilled to share it with you and look forward to using it with my own athletes.

Blessings,

Joy
